The Optique of Tomorrow

Was invited by Evelyn to attend to new opening of T.O.T. also known as The Optique of Tomorrow, located at JEM! Thanks Evelyn! ♥




Awhile later when I arrived at T.O.T. The Managing Director of Nanyang Optical Co. Pte Ltd, Mr. Bernard Yang was telling us more about the range of spectacles/sunglasses that T.O.T has to offer.

Mr. Bernard joined Nanyang Optical business since 1996, and he has close to two decades of industry experience, in the year 2000, he co-started the distribution arm, Eye-Biz Pte Ltd, and through the years, brought the business from Singapore and Malaysia onto the global stage, mapping out distribution footprints from Asia to Europe and then finally, United States.

Besides retail and business management, Mr. Bernard utilized his technical know-how and innovative market sensitivities to help launch four proprietary brands, starting up with Urband in 2006, followed by Glossi, Linkskin and Eyelet. In addition, Bernard spearheaded the new business of providing safety eyewear to an untapped consumer segment.

Under his leadership, Nanyang Optical is now introducing The Optique of Tomorrow, T.O.T., a new retail brand dedicated to edgy designer eyewear to cater to a widened consumer base.

We were also allowed to try on all the eyewear that is available in the shop! Here's me and Joyce camwhoring!





T.O.T. sells eyewear from many different brands such as Tart Optical which symbolizes the good old American style frame in black, dark tortoise and smoke grey which was worn by James Dean in the 1950s and popularized by Johnny Depp starring in the movie Secret Window.

Glossi is another favourite brand worn by celebrities, its known for its unique coating on the frame front that creates kaleidoscope of colors. An exclusive brand at T.O.T., which was also the one that I got as a media gift, was worn by Joe Perry, singer of Aerosmith to complete his flamboyant stage presence.

grafik:plastic, which is a Korean brand with a wide selection of striking frame-fronts and temples which can be pieced together in numerous variations. grafik:plastic is also well-loved for is versatility by K-Pop stars such as Big Bang, 2NE1 and Wondegirls.

Carrera, designed to showcase racing as an attitude for people who live to their limit.

For those who seek for casual chic eye pieces that compliment their way of life, there is WOOW which take a fun and quirky spin on design.

February 31st, this brand of eyewear uses wood to result in a profound lightness and comfort level for wearer. To encourage wearers to inject fun and their own personality, these spectacles which are available exclusively at T.O.T. allow for customization of various colors for your frame front and temples.

Urban is another exclusive label which invented the use of a patented S-clip to lock the frame front to the temples in replacement of conventional screws and soldering, thus improving on durability and flexibility of the spectacle frame.

Friends, Again.

People Come And Go!

Okay! I think my life is getting more and more pathetic! Not like I'm trying to get attention from others, but what actually triggered me to write this post is because, I feel that I'm always being misunderstood or wronged for the wrong reasons.

Since Young



I don't really have any friends in primary school, not until secondary school and thereafter.

Some of you might have read my previous entries that I was physically and verbally abused my my siblings, most of the time that is. That is why when you begin to know me, I'm kinda socially awkward and don't really talk. People might find me arrogant and stuck up for that.

Knowing that my age gap with my 3 elder sisters is HUGE! I find it hard to have any say when I'm at home. I was often bullied, that explains why I have such low self-esteem. Really, people who thinks I have high self-esteem, its just to cover it up! Cuz I don't wanna be seen as someone who is such a defeatist. I want to prove to people I can actually achieve something in life.

That is when



My life had complete turnover, I had friends, people who are willing to be my friends despite me being super crazy and irritating to them. They loved me for who I am, and not judging me based on how I look or how I act.

As Years Goes By



I realized that, as more "friends" I have, I always have some that left me! It hurts, it really hurts seeing the ones you love, leaving you.

There was once I had this friend, lets call him Jack, Jack is one of my closest guy friend that I ever had, cuz I hardly have any guys friend that understands me.



We were close, close to the extend where we could really talk our hearts out, make fun of each other, and knowing how irritating the other party is but still giving in to one another.

LIKE A BRO! 

But as the day goes by, he met some other friends, which I felt that I was losing this special friend of mine.



AND YES!

We were no longer close, his mind was set towards his new bunch of friends. I was left out. Or maybe its just me being a total loser that doesn't know how to handle friendship and I suck.



Throughout The Years

I've made new friends, and more friends. I find it hard to cope with all of them sometimes, then again it explains why my Jack wasn't close to me after he had found his new bunch of friends. It kinda hurts when my friend doesn't understand the situation I'm caught in. It's not that I don't care about the friendship anymore, it's just that I'm trying really hard to balance my life. Cuz I want to keep those (my current) friends that I have with me, I don't wanna lose anyone of them.



Then some of them will say, I have this new group of friends then I don't care about the old ones anymore. NOT TRUE AT ALL! I still care! If I don't, I won't even bother talking to you anymore! Yes, No?!!



One thing that I dislike about is this group of my friend talking bad about my other group of friends, that is when I shut myself out. Cuz really, I care about both sides, and I hate drama!

But Then Again

I've heard about people talking bad stuff behind my back, but the stupid and naive me chose to believe it, see and hear it with my own eyes and ears. Okay la! Call me dumb! But I always have this perspective of never to judge people until you get to know them. So yea, till date, I don't really know who is real and true to me anymore.



Nevertheless

I still love all my friends, really, please don't judge me because I'm not spending enough time with you.

All I know of now is, People Change, But Memories Stays. I forgive, but I'll never forget what people say or do to me.



I may be smiling, but you never know, deep down inside, my heart's hurting.

SENTOSA!

[15th June 2013, Saturday]

Was at Eighteen Chefs with the CNOS peeps for food tasting early in the morning! After that, Me and Angie went down to VIVO City to meet Fenny and Joyce, also to help Joyce do her shoot for a advertorial! :D

Before proceeding to the beach for Joyce's shoot, she needed a place to sit down and do her makeup! Just nice that me and fenny are hungry, so we had a quick bite over at McDonalds while Joyce do her makeup.

Sadly, the new Wasabi sauce is not my liking, don't really like wasabi and never will! LOL! But the Honey Mustard is NICE!!!! :D




Settled the shoot at Tanjong Beach

Had quite a hard time finding the "perfect" place to do the shoot, cuz of the people around. But we manage to find a pretty good spot. Haha!

High Tea @ Carousel

Had high tea with my family at Royal Plaza on Scotts. Its located right opposite Far East Plaza!

We went on to do some shopping, my family that is. All I did was just follow them walking around.








And ending off this post with a picture of my fam smoking!



I find it quite weird though, my whole family smokes, but I don't! But I guess its a good thing for me! Haha! If you guys didn't know, I don't really like the smell of cigarettes. IT STINKS!!!

But I do have friends that smokes also la, and I'm okay with them smoking infront of me and stuff...
